Muffaletta

Muffaletta is a traditional New Orleans sandwich of Italian cold cuts and cheeses and a flavorful olive salad, constructed on a large, low lying sesame round. The texture of the bread needs to be able to soak up juices and oil of the salad without becoming mushy. This sesame-semolina loaf fits the bill, making an impressive sandwich for a Mardi Gras celebration.
